About the role
The Employee Benefits Growth Manager will play an integral role in developing emerging Employee Benefits Advisors at Morris & Garritano! This regional leader will support the successful marketing and onboarding of new business opportunities in Southern California. The Employee Benefits Growth Manager provides training in employee benefits markets, carrier strategy, agency processes, and client solutions while guiding unvalidated Benefits Advisors through actual opportunities. Using a combination of technical expertise and structured mentorship, the Employee Benefits Growth Manager ensures Advisors gain the knowledge, skill, and confidence to succeed in winning and transitioning new business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the performance management process for emerging Advisors
- Deliver training and onboarding for emerging Advisors, focusing on employee benefits markets, carrier strategy, agency processes, proposal development, and client solution design
- Supervise emerging Advisors during onboarding and ramp-up, including 1:1 meetings, activity and pipeline management, workload oversight, and performance feedback
- Lead marketing strategy and execution for targeted opportunities
- Drive carrier strategy, submissions, and positioning for new business opportunities
- Elevate the quality of submissions, proposals, and overall deal structure
- Participate in finalist meetings and key client conversations to strengthen outcomes
- Support Advisors in structuring opportunities and presenting recommendations to prospective clients
- Support the successful onboarding and implementation of new clients secured through Advisor-led opportunities
- Serve as a strategic resource during onboarding to ensure a coordinated and consistent client experience
- Collaborate with Employee Benefits leadership to strengthen carrier alignment and market positioning
- Maintain expertise regarding carrier solutions, market trends, and competitive positioning to support Advisor success
- Support agency-wide carrier strategy by providing market insight and feedback
Requirements
- 7+ years of Employee Benefits marketing, carrier placement, or related strategy experience
- 5+ years of Employee Benefits account management or equivalent client-facing experience
- Strong understanding of carrier markets, funding arrangements and placement strategies
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or training others in a professional setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new applications
- Supervisory Responsibility: You will directly supervise emerging Employee Benefits Advisors throughout onboarding, validation, and ramp-up. Responsible for coaching, performance feedback, development planning, accountability, and readiness assessment for emerging Advisors regardless of their geographic location.
