About the role
Independently performs neurodiagnostic procedures including routine and long-term electroencephalograms (EEGs) and all modalities of evoked potential procedures.
Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable in correct EEG, long-term monitoring (LTM), continuous (CEEG)/ICU monitoring, and evoked potential (EP) performance and recognition of clinically significant events.
- Follows the facility’s policy and procedures.
- Exercises professional judgement in the performance of exams.
- Communicates effectively with the neurologist and other staff members.
- May have on call responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Education: High School completion / GED, Associate degree preferred.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR Certification required. R.EEG.T registry, R.EP.T registry, C.LTM registry, CNIM registry preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills: Electrode application, pattern recognition, correlates patient history and clinical symptoms, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
