About the role
As an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC), you’ll manage complex and critical cases, collaborate with a talented team of specialists, and provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients when they need it most. This role is vital to ensuring continuity of care and supporting the pets and families who rely on us during emergencies.

Requirements
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Maine
- Experience in emergency medicine
- Ability to work flexible overnight shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- Completion of an ACVECC-approved residency program in Emergency and Critical Care
- Board certification in Emergency and Critical Care preferred

Pay
The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually.
Schedule
The schedule is 7 overnights 5pm - 8am every 3 weeks.
