Emergency Vet Assistant, AESC
About the role
We are growing and looking for an experienced veterinary assistant to join our Emergency Department!
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology
- Obtain detailed patient histories, and provide excellent patient care and monitoring
- Perform proficient venipuncture
- Multitask well and think critically in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients
- Remain composed during stressful and emotional situations
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture
Requirements
- Veterinary assistant experience, including knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology
- Proficient venipuncture skills
- Able to multitask well and think critically on your feet
- Strong time management and the ability to remain composed during stressful and emotional situations
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care, with clear and effective communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Washington State license as a Veterinary Technician (VTS) or Veterinary Assistant (VTA)
- Experience in an emergency setting preferred
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills

Pay
Schedule
- Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Open shifts include Saturday and Sunday mid-day shifts, weekday and weekend swing shifts, plus Friday and Saturday overnights.
- A Part-Time position has the potential to become a Full-Time position in the coming months.
