Emergency Vet Assistant, AESC

About the role

We are growing and looking for an experienced veterinary assistant to join our Emergency Department!

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology
• Obtain detailed patient histories, and provide excellent patient care and monitoring
• Perform proficient venipuncture
• Multitask well and think critically in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients
• Remain composed during stressful and emotional situations
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

Requirements

• Veterinary assistant experience, including knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology
• Proficient venipuncture skills
• Able to multitask well and think critically on your feet
• Strong time management and the ability to remain composed during stressful and emotional situations
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care, with clear and effective communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Washington State license as a Veterinary Technician (VTS) or Veterinary Assistant (VTA)
• Experience in an emergency setting preferred

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills

Pay

Schedule

• Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Open shifts include Saturday and Sunday mid-day shifts, weekday and weekend swing shifts, plus Friday and Saturday overnights.
• A Part-Time position has the potential to become a Full-Time position in the coming months.
