Emergency Vehicle Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on Emergency Vehicles primarily, Pierce Fire Apparatus and Road Rescue Ambulances.
• Accomplish repairs and perform services outlined in established technical manuals.
• Perform inspection and repair on apparatus components.
• Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics utilized during scheduled service intervals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment.
• Utilizes diagnostic tools (both manual and electronic) to assess and evaluate required service/ repairs.
• Continued training and certification.

Required Skills

• Certification as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) preferred.
• Current Heavy Truck ASE certifications preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair.
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer and basic applications.
• CDL preferred.
