Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis and repair vehicles mechanical problems as they occur.
  • Document all vehicle repairs - maintain computerized and written records.
  • Maintain parts inventory.
  • Able to use all types of hand tools and related power equipment associated with automotive/vehicular maintenance and repair.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Prioritize all vehicle repairs based on operational needs and length of repair time needed.
  • Perform Technician on call duties as assigned by service manager.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles as directed according to maintenance schedule.
  • Be able to work in weather common with our area using the mobile repair and field service unit.
  • Read and interpret vehicle wiring diagrams, instructions and manuals.
  • Ensure parts and components are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
  • Follow and/or set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.
  • Follow spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
  • Able to establish and maintain successful working relationships with co-workers and employees in various departments.
  • Function with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to provide personal tools for diagnosis and vehicle repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Highest preference given to ASE Certifications up to and including Master Mechanic.
  • Vocational School a plus.
  • EVT, AWS and or I-CAR certifications a plus.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • One year experience automotive, emergency vehicle experience.
