Responsibilities
- Diagnosis and repair vehicles mechanical problems as they occur.
- Document all vehicle repairs - maintain computerized and written records.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Able to use all types of hand tools and related power equipment associated with automotive/vehicular maintenance and repair.
- Able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Prioritize all vehicle repairs based on operational needs and length of repair time needed.
- Perform Technician on call duties as assigned by service manager.
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles as directed according to maintenance schedule.
- Be able to work in weather common with our area using the mobile repair and field service unit.
- Read and interpret vehicle wiring diagrams, instructions and manuals.
- Ensure parts and components are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
- Follow and/or set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.
- Follow spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
- Able to establish and maintain successful working relationships with co-workers and employees in various departments.
- Function with minimal supervision.
- Be able to provide personal tools for diagnosis and vehicle repairs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Highest preference given to ASE Certifications up to and including Master Mechanic.
- Vocational School a plus.
- EVT, AWS and or I-CAR certifications a plus.
- Valid drivers license.
- One year experience automotive, emergency vehicle experience.
