Job Summary and Qualifications
- Ensure high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the unit/department.
- Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Support efforts to reduce clinical practice variation and improve efficiency.
- Achieve internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Manage admissions and discharge processes for efficient throughput and high-quality care.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary care coordination and assign staff with appropriate clinical competencies.
- Lead in creating an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Identify development opportunities and training needs for employees and teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- 1+ year experience in healthcare required.
- 1+ year in supervisory role preferred.
- Specialty Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
- FT/PT/PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must apply for and obtain a Texas RN license within 60 days from hire and have a current TX RN license within 6 months of application.
- BLS and ACLS certifications within 6 months of hire.

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a full-service medical center with two locations: St. David's North Austin Medical Center and St. David's Surgical Hospital. It provides comprehensive medical care, including advanced women's health services, minimally invasive gynecological surgery, comprehensive breast imaging, and various pediatric services. The facility is recognized as a Level IV Maternal Facility and has a Level IV Epilepsy Center for both adults and children.
