About the role
The position of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is available in Houma, LA.
Responsibilities
- Aid in providing health care to inmates.
- Perform intake physical examinations for newly incarcerated inmates.
- Pass medications to inmates as directed.
- Respond to medical emergencies and advise on inmate classification.
- Comply with Medical Department directives regarding bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
- Practice proper medical record keeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Current EMT certification in the state of employment.
- Current certification for American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.
- Knowledge and ability to provide emergency care within the scope of practice.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in emergency medical services preferred.

Competitive compensation up to $21/hr.
Schedule
12-hour shifts, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
