Emergency Medical Tech
About the role
Provides support treatment, care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport. Arrives to the scene of an emergency, determines the situation, and develops a plan of action. Uses appropriate medical equipment and comprehends the severity of the injury. Monitors patient condition and performs data collection. Communicates findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.
Responsibilities
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Basic Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Valid drivers license obtained by hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
