How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Provide support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport.
  • Arrive to the scene of an emergency, determine the situation, and develop a plan of action.
  • Use appropriate medical equipment and comprehends the severity of the injury.
  • Monitor patient condition and performs data collection. Communicate findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Assist with the mobilization, ambulation, and transport of patients.

Minimum Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following preferred:
    • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. With acceptable driving record.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
