About the role

This position coordinates statewide activities of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education, including program development, monitoring, training, and public relations. Responsibilities also include implementing, administering, and promoting various programs such as Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic initial training. Quality improvement measures are taken through data analysis and program evaluations.

Responsibilities

- Develop and monitor EMS education programs for content and quality. - Provide technical assistance to EMS agencies and districts. - Supervise and evaluate EMS Instructor/Coordinators.

Requirements

- Master's degree in education, public policy, emergency services, or related field with 2+ years of EMS experience, or Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of EMS experience, or 6+ years of EMS experience. - One year of EMS experience involving training responsibilities. - National Registered Paramedic certification or equivalent healthcare professional experience. - Experience with program development in proficiency-based educational design.

Qualifications

- Master's degree in education, public policy, emergency services, or related field. - Bachelor's degree in education, public policy, emergency services, or related field. - Six years of EMS experience involving training responsibilities. - National Registered Paramedic certification or equivalent healthcare professional experience. - Direct experience with program development in proficiency-based educational design.

- Proficiency in EMS education program development. - Excellent organizational and supervisory skills. - Ability to manage strong and differing opinions tactfully.

Pay

Effective July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 25 will be $31.54 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $49.45 per hour.

Schedule

Duties involve considerable travel and may require work outside of regular hours.
