Emergency Manager Coordinator
Develop, maintain, and implement university-wide emergency operations and continuity of operations plans (COOP).
- Coordinate preparedness initiatives including drills, tabletop exercises, and training programs for faculty, staff, and students.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on emergency management, providing guidance and support to departments on risk mitigation and response planning.
- Maintain situational awareness and provide timely updates to leadership regarding threats and hazards that may impact the university.
- Support the activation and operation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during incidents.
- Collaborate with campus police, facilities, health services, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated emergency response.
- Maintain and test emergency communication systems, including mass notification tools.
- Participate in after-action reviews and develop improvement plans following incidents or exercises.
- Serve in an on-call capacity for emergency response and support 24/7 operations as needed.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Homeland Security, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in emergency management, continuity planning, or public safety operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), and emergency planning best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure situations.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required certifications and clearances.
- Availability for after-hours, weekend, and holiday response as needed.
