EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT TECH, FMFH - ED/TRAUMA

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI (on-site at Froedtert Men Falls Hospital)

About the role

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in the Emergency and Trauma Center.

FTE: 0.600000 (24 standard hours per week), Shift 3 (19:00–07:30). Rotating holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine service duties and basic nursing procedures in the Emergency and Trauma Center.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
• High School diploma or equivalent (incumbents hired prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute with demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate at a high-school level).
• One of the following active licenses/certifications:
  • State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician License,
  • Certified Medical Assistant (or 3 years of experience in lieu of certification), or
  • State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent must be completed within 30 days of hire.
