Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – on-site role
About the Role
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in the Emergency and Trauma Center. Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
Full-time positions available (3.6 FTE, 40 standard hours per week). Five openings with the following shifts:
- Position 35: 0.6 FTE, 19:15–07:15, A weekend
- Position 38: 0.6 FTE, 19:15–07:15, A weekend
- Position 1R: 0.9 FTE, rotating hours, B weekend
- Position 3RP: 0.9 FTE, rotating PM/night hours (start times 15:15, 17:15, 19:15, 21:15), C weekend
- Position 12RP: 0.6 FTE, rotating PM/night hours (start times 15:15, 17:15, 19:15, 21:15), B weekend
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (incumbents hired prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute with demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate at a high-school level)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- One of the following licenses:
- State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician License
- Certified Medical Assistant (or 3 years of experience in lieu of certification)
- State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent (must be completed within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of EMT experience
