Emergency Department Tech

About the role

We are currently seeking a Technician for our 21‑bed Emergency Department at the Pierremont Campus. The ideal candidate follows directions, communicates effectively with staff, shows genuine interest in patients and their families, and can multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional staff with urgent and non‑urgent procedures
• Assist nurses with initial patient assessments
• Support patients and their families
• Transport patients to other hospital areas
• Prepare instruments for sterilization
• Maintain supplies in the department and treatment areas

Requirements

High school education or equivalent and a willingness to take the Department of Transportation drug‑screening class.

Qualifications

• Completion of Department of Nursing Orientation
• Successful completion of Emergency Department Tech orientation with ED educator and completion of a skills checklist with ED Tech preceptor
• Completion of EMT or Nurse Aide course (nursing school, medical school, previous hospital or military experience may substitute for this requirement) – preferred
