Role Summary

The registered nurse (RN) collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on diagnosing and treating responses to health issues. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care and discharge plans, executing protocols, documenting accurately, and evaluating patient responses to care. The RN coordinates care activities across departments and community agencies, delegates appropriately, and prioritizes patient needs in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Duties

  • Perform accurate multi-system assessments and discharge evaluations.
  • Develop and coordinate patient-centered care plans, including education and discharge planning.
  • Implement protocols, execute physician orders, and document care accurately.
  • Evaluate patient responses, participate in quality assurance, and utilize a multidisciplinary approach when needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 9 months RN experience, with 1 year in emergency settings or completion of a specialized internship program.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Licenses and certifications: RN license (Oregon), BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and pediatric life support within specified timeframes.
  • Additional skills: computer proficiency, emergency pediatric course, and ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior healthcare experience, bachelor's degree, and certifications like CEN or TNCC are advantageous.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical judgment skills are preferred.
