About the Role

The registered nurse (RN) collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on diagnosing and treating responses to health problems. They perform comprehensive multi-system assessments, develop individualized care and discharge plans, and coordinate care activities across departments and community resources. The RN executes protocols for medical and surgical management, accurately documents care, and administers medications. They evaluate patient responses and participate in quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate patient assessments and reassessments
  • Develop and coordinate individualized care plans and discharge strategies
  • Implement protocols and document care accurately
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and evaluate patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and collaborate across disciplines

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 9 months RN experience, with at least 1 year in emergency department or completion of a related internship
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and either PALS or ENPC within specified timeframes
  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, medication administration, and emergency response skills
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and effective communication skills
  • Preferred: prior healthcare experience, bachelor's degree, and certifications such as CEN or TNCC
