Emergency Department Nurse Manager

Role Overview

This position involves coordinating patient care, managing personnel, maintaining and purchasing equipment, and tracking departmental statistics. The role includes hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development of staff. Responsibilities also encompass developing staffing plans, managing budgets, ensuring quality patient care, and implementing collaborative care plans based on assessments and medical treatments. The role requires overseeing staff productivity, conducting performance reviews, handling staffing needs, and ensuring departmental operational goals are met. Additional duties include managing staff schedules, payroll, and disciplinary actions, as well as fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Duties

• Manage staff hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Develop and oversee departmental budgets and operational goals.
• Ensure quality patient care through collaborative planning and documentation.
• Supervise staff productivity, conduct performance reviews, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Support staff development and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational requirements: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 2-5 years for lower qualification levels; 5-10 years with supervisory experience for preferred qualifications.
• Licenses & Certifications: RN license mandatory.
• Leadership skills, staff management, budgeting, and patient care coordination skills are essential.
