Position Summary
BWI Group is seeking a skilled Embedded Hardware Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware systems used in advanced braking technologies. This role will work cross-functionally with software, systems, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance automotive electronic solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded hardware systems including PCBs, microcontroller-based circuits, and power electronics
- Create and review schematics, layouts, and BOMs using industry tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence)
- Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and validation testing
- Support ECU (Electronic Control Unit) hardware development and integration
- Collaborate with embedded software engineers on hardware/software integration
- Conduct DFMEA, design reviews, and root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262, EMC/EMI requirements)
- Interface with suppliers for component selection, prototyping, and validation
- Support lab testing, debugging, and product validation activities
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 3–7+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, preferably in automotive
- Strong knowledge of:
- Analog and digital circuit design
- Microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, Infineon, NXP)
- PCB design and layout principles
- Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers)
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C)
- Understanding of EMC/EMI design considerations
- Experience with design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with automotive ECUs or suspension/braking systems
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262)
- Exposure to AUTOSAR environments
- Experience with high-voltage or power electronics
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
