NESRI has recently joined allies in signing the Jobs for All Manifesto, envisioning a world where everyone who wants to work has a living-wage job, eliminating the need to cobble together multiple jobs to make ends meet. This initiative aims to eradicate joblessness and its consequences, fostering a society where millions work collectively to heal the environment, rebuild physical and care infrastructure, and renew public art, while guaranteeing the basic right to a job.
We face a crisis of economic insecurity amid economic and ecological upheaval, where racial exclusion and concentrated wealth coexist with a sweltering planet. A Federal Job Guarantee is proposed as a strategy to build an economy that ensures economic security and dignity for all. By guaranteeing every person who wants to work can find a good job meeting vital community needs, this initiative can serve as the cornerstone of an inclusive, thriving, and sustainable 21st-century economy.
