Elevator Mechanic Apprentice
Duties
- Work alongside experienced mechanics to learn the installation and servicing of residential elevators and wheelchair lifts.
- Take on more responsibility and independence in the field as skills grow.
- Install residential elevators and wheelchair lifts.
- Work as part of a two-person installation team on job sites.
- Aid in training and mentoring new team members.
- Interface professionally with customers and general contractors.
- Show strong safety awareness and regulatory compliance.
- Develop knowledge of safety codes and industry standards.
- Multi-task with patience, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Operate basic computer equipment and mobile devices.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
Qualifications
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with basic computer equipment and mobile devices.
