Electronics Technician-Maintenance I

About the Role

Electronics Technician I will follow the guidance of the Electronics Technician III to ensure the full spectrum of range support is provided for successful gunnery and range training events. The role involves applying basic technical knowledge to perform tasks such as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment, and taking test readings using instruments like digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.

Schedule

Standard work week consists of five (5) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day, totaling a 40-hour work week. Additional hours and varying shifts may be required to support scheduled gunnery events.

Responsibilities

• User-level diagnostics, cleaning, repair, cable repair, packing, and unpacking TADSS
• Daily, monthly, and annual PMCS (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services)
• Installation, removal, battery checks, and replacement
• Diagnostics, LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) replacement, cleaning, and repair
• Target fabrication, assembly, repair, painting, installing thermal blankets, and lifters
• Operate System Control (SYSCON), Exercise Control (EXCON), Scenario Development Tool (SDT), Area Weapons Scoring System (AWSS) Workstation, and Theater Podium Workstation (PWS) for unit validation, walkthroughs, and training events
• Conduct range tests, target thermal checks, maintenance, and repairs for day-to-night or night-to-day transitions
• Maintenance on equipment
• Administration tasks including inventory counts, reconciliation, and MIS data entry
• Corrective work orders
• Perform user-level PMCS and repairs
• Facility cleanup of ROCA (sweeping, mopping, emptying trash)
• Ground maintenance including line-of-sight maintenance, weed mowing, and trimming at all SITS, SATS, MITS, MATS, Hull Downs, Battle Positions, and facilities
• Weed trimming and pulling
• Vehicle maintenance: cleaning exterior, interior, windows, uploading/downloading work stock, and target repair waste
• Perform other duties as required, including IPU (Intermediate-Level Preventive Maintenance) equivalent to crew-level maintenance

Requirements

• Valid State Driver’s License and ability to retain Post Driving Privileges
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Knowledge of range operations
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines while adhering to safety guidelines and installation Standardized Operating Procedures
• Experience working with military units
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork
• Ability to exercise good judgment and understand the overall effect of decisions

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree and/or 2 years of relative experience

Physical Duties

• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
• Work is subject to high noise levels and vibration
• Work performed in environments with high dust, pollen, and wind
• Requires physical presence around high voltage, machinery, and unprotected heights
• May require protective clothing and equipment for feet, hands, head, eyes, and ears
• Ability to lift and carry items not exceeding 50 lbs
• Physical dexterity to push/pull, climb/balance, bend/stoop, twist/turn, kneel/crouch, crawl, and reach overhead
• Ability to grasp, use feet for foot controls, and stand unaided for eight (8) hours or more

Clearance

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance
• Must be able to acquire a Government Common Access Card (CAC)
