Maintenance Technician I

Key Accountabilities

• Support the SPG safety program.
• Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.
• Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance on all machines per schedule.
• Replenishes liquids as needed to maintain prescribed operating levels.
• Checks and repairs broken lines and hoses and valves as needed.
• Determines and reports location of leak to supervisor for repair scheduling.
• Cleans the screws and barrels on the presses and checks them for wear.
• Reports out-of-tolerance conditions to supervisor for repair or replacement.
• Troubleshoots machine problems and reports findings to supervisor.
• Repairs machines following supervisors’ guidelines.
• Replaces viewing windows in presses as needed.
• Repairs or overhauls portable equipment or components removed from machine.
• wires molds prior to installation into a press.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hydraulic and electrical knowledge is required for this position.
