Electronics Technician II - Green Flag West

About the role

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, modify, construct and test ground-based electronic systems and related devices.
• Operate and maintain electronic equipment, network equipment, desktop clients, video teleconferencing systems, and other elements associated with the P5 ACTS system.
• Interpret flight schedules for daily operations, perform data entry, conduct preventative maintenance, diagnose real-time system faults and errors, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Install, configure, and test commercial and proprietary hardware and software; perform operational testing and provide effective feedback on performance.
• Install new equipment as directed; coordinate with other departments and work centers to achieve common goals.
• Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data, and test equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition.
• Maintain documented maintenance actions and reporting through the Resource Management Center; adhere to established maintenance procedures and use established database tools for maintenance reporting and tracking.
• Provide customers with daily assistance, including live mission support, post-mission debriefings, data handling, and updates on mission capability/system status.
• Accurately handle and store classified materials.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform tasks and make effective decisions under stressful circumstances during live mission support and post-mission debriefings.

Requirements

• Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory or a military equivalent.
• COMPTIA A+ certification is required and must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics and a good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems, along with the test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment.
• Experience with computer network equipment/configuration and desktop client configuration.
• At least three years of hands-on experience.
• Demonstrated ability to apply logical understanding of equipment and network function to skillfully perform troubleshooting.

Working Conditions

• Duties are performed indoors in an office environment.
• Climbing stairs and ladders is required.
• Government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis.
• Must be available and willing to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs require.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Travel to remote working locations may be necessary on a non-standard, infrequent basis.
