Duties
Pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor, and starts work (e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led).
Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, scenarios, and tools are available.
Ensure that stock or target components needed are obtained from supply locations.
Check work in progress, and when finished, for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
Answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical orders, scenarios).
Ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
Work along with other workers, setting the pace.
Requirements
- Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator's License within six months of appointment.
