Duties
- Analyze computer-generated test data to isolate and identify missile system and subsystem malfunctions.
- Repair defective electronic units by replacing or tuning components to meet mission-critical specification requirements.
- Perform computer-controlled tests on missile assemblies to verify system performance and identify specification failures.
- Provide recommendations for resolving operating conditions or system problems.
Requirements
- Conditions of employment include obtaining and maintaining a Secret Security clearance.
- Business travel/temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 15% of the time.
- Mobility Agreement required to assigned areas worldwide to support the mission.
- Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
- Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Screening in accordance with AR 190-11 required initially and annually.
- Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required.
- The position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- Position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- Requires the incumbent to maintain a state driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Experience: Performing routine, computer-controlled tests on missile components and subsystems to gather and record performance data; assisting senior technicians in troubleshooting electronic systems by using standard test equipment to check voltages, frequencies, and signal continuity; and replacing malfunctioning electronic components and modules based on established maintenance procedures and diagnostic results.
- Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology.
- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
