Electronic Technician Supervisor

Employment Type: Executive Branch, full-time, eligible for overtime pay, 40 hours per week.

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of the DOC is to protect the citizens of the commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for staff and offenders while carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes. The DOC also provides opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

Green River Correctional Complex is seeking skilled applicants for the Electrician Technician Supervisor position on site at the institution. This position will supervise the work of facility electronics tech staff and other maintenance department staff. This role requires a high degree of adaptability and initiative, responsiveness to a rapidly changing work environment, and complex decision-making skills. Superior communication skills with colleagues, employees, and supervisors are ideal.

Responsibilities

• Supervises technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic component systems, electronic recording, monitoring or measuring devices, and other electronic equipment.
• Performs the duties of a technician, particularly in more difficult and technical areas.
• Supervises the evaluation of electronic equipment performance and final inspection and adjustment of installation and special systems.
• Maintains technical records and reports of maintenance and repairs.
• Interprets blueprints and technical drawings for technicians.
• Inspects work of staff.

Requirements

Education: High school graduate.

Experience, Training, or Skills: Five years of technical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.

• Substitute Education for Experience: Technical training in electronics or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitute Experience for Education: Additional technical experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Pay

Salary: $56,570.04 annually (Pay Grade 13).

Schedule

40 hours per week.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office and/or electronic shop.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
