Troubleshooting and Repair

The Electronic Technician troubleshoots and repairs AC/DC motors and their associated control schemes. Proficiency in all aspects of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is required.

Electrical Systems and Components

  • Diagnose and repair/replace multiple types of sensing devices such as photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity sensors, I/Ps etc.
  • Work with high/low voltage systems and components including 24vdc, 110vac, 208vac and 480vac.
  • Bend and run conduit and wire terminations.

Equipment Assessment and Improvement

  • Assess new equipment electrical needs for installation.
  • Assess and improve existing equipment performance and efficiencies as needed.

Technical Skills

  • Read and write electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
  • Use all standard measuring devices.
  • Show good technical and critical thinking skills.

Safety and Regulations

  • Show good technical and critical thinking skills.
  • Identify issues that he/she is not able to rectify and communicate them promptly to the Maintenance Manager for assistance.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, & GMP rules and regulations.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or equivalent plus two years of trade school or 4 years electrical and electronics work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Training and Certifications

  • Must be able to attend all job related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
