About the role
The EHR Analyst I's primary job responsibilities include training IHA staff, resolving customer tickets, and providing support during EHR implementations and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison between staff and IT professionals to facilitate understanding of clinical standards and process improvement activities.
- Fulfills roles such as responding to customer tickets, conducting site visits, performing chart corrections, and providing go-live support.
- Supports educational sessions for staff, delivering training content that aligns with course objectives and adult learning principles.
- Develops and updates training materials, ensuring they are adaptable to various learning environments.
- Conveys information about the impact of personal health records and patient-enabling technologies on clinical care.
- Supports integration of quality improvement and safety-enhancing methodologies and tools.
- Applies knowledge and data to support evidence-based health information technology solutions.
- Attends focus groups and meetings to strategize workflow issues.
Requirements
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Keeps up-to-date with trends and advances in healthcare informatics and related technology.
- Uses professional standards of care and scientific evidence in evaluating health care programs.
- Operates a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including electronic medical records/templates, Microsoft Office, and e-learning platforms.
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal forms, speaks before groups, and applies consultative skills.
- Utilizes adult learning principles and training methodologies.
- Manages multiple priorities, time constraints, and deadlines.
- Travels to other office/practice sites and meeting/training locations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in health care or information technology.
- Credentials/Licenses: Credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a medical practice environment, with strong preference for IHA office experience.
