About the role
The Game Technician position is responsible for maintaining the functionality of our unique game technology. Our Game Technicians are knowledgeable on the mechanics and operations of the game/courses and ensure they are performing properly and safely. Through troubleshooting, repair techniques, and timely reporting, the Game Technician works closely with the venue team to resolve technical issues promptly, contributing to a positive and engaging guest experience.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in technical support or maintenance
- Proficient with computer systems, technology, and PC hardware installations
- Ability to learn unique software and hardware systems that support the game
- Familiarity with technical documentation; ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with electronic circuitry and testing equipment
- Skilled in practical application of electronics and mechanics
- Experience with hand tools and small power tools
- Guest-focused mindset; ability to provide an exceptional experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends
- Requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
- Must pass a post-offer background check
Preferred Skills
- Proven experience in technical support and maintenance in a gaming or entertainment environment
- Strong problem-solving skills down to the component level and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Experience with small electronic and mechanical repairs
- Familiarity with Ethernet data infrastructure
- Soldering experience
- Basic understanding of electromechanical devices (e.g., linear actuators, small conveyor systems)
Responsibilities
- Maintain the functionality of Puttshack’s unique game technology
- Troubleshoot and repair technical issues promptly and efficiently
- Work closely with the venue team to resolve technical problems
- Ensure games and courses operate safely and properly
- Read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, and guests
Physical Demands
- Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions
- Move about the facility and stand for long periods of time
- Kneel, stoop, bend, and twist frequently
- Read and write handwritten notes
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Navigate stairs and dimly lit areas
- Remain on feet for entire shifts throughout all venue areas, including kitchens and stairs
- Hand dexterity to work with small tools and fine-tune small components
