- Determines correct location and method of securing machinery once in place.
- Makes necessary repairs and adjustments when breakdowns occur, observing, testing, and diagnosing the cause of failure.
- Connects power to machines or equipment and tests unit to evaluate its electrical and mechanical operation.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, maintains, and repairs electrical fixtures, apparatus and wiring used in electrical systems.
- Bends and installs conduit, runs wires, and makes hook-ups. Installs lighting and power circuits, power and control equipment.
- Connects cables in master distribution cabinets. Connects motors and generators.
- Installs and services electrical contact rails. Wires bus ducts, troughs, switchboards, switchgear, transformers, motors, and generators.
- Diagnoses trouble in lighting and power circuits. Adjust and repair welders. Checks, repairs, and adjusts electrical solenoids and limit switches.
- Locates and repairs faulty electrical equipment. Repairs AC and DC starters. Changes or replaces bulbs, starters, and ballasts.
- Repairs heating appliances, electric meters, and electrical welding controls. Connects equipment transformers, meters, and relays. Adjusts timing relays.
- Tests and reconditioning of large and small AC/DC motors. Checks and tests electrical motor circuits.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems and make necessary repairs (adjust clearances, align moving parts, etc.).
- Troubleshoots, identifies, and replaces defective components of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.
