About the role
The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit at Siemens seeks an Electro-Mechanical Assembler Technician for its Protection and Automation Panel Assembly Workshop (PA PAWS) team on 1st shift in Wendell, NC.
Responsibilities
- Perform sub-assembly and final mechanical assembly.
- Wiring with high accuracy and workmanship, including proper stripping, crimping, routing and dressing techniques.
- Work with large power cables, ensuring correct crimping methods, and assemble components on panels per layouts or drawings.
- Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings.
- Read and interpret schematic and wiring diagrams to support proper assembly and wiring of equipment.
- Set and use torque wrenches correctly, adhering to developed processes and seeking ways to improve.
- Adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Requirements
- Basic Qualifications:
- Completed High School Diploma/GED
- Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Able to lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or in progress, if able to work full-time)
- Residential or commercial electrical education or certifications
- Experience in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- Ability to conduct thorough final inspections on all electrical equipment, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
- Experience with various test equipment, including Hi-pot testing.
- Proficiency in reading schematic drawings, layouts, and wire lists for circuit troubleshooting.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.36 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.

Shift Hours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
