Electro-Mechanic Lead_Maintenance
About the role
This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical production equipment while providing day-to-day leadership and support to the maintenance team. The Maintenance Lead serves as a key resource for maintenance personnel, production teams, and other departments to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe, productive work environment. This position may also assume supervisory responsibilities during the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor or during off-shift operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily guidance and support to maintenance team members.
- Cook up maintenance work activities and prioritize repair requests.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related issues during assigned shifts.
- Communicate equipment concerns and operational issues to management and maintenance staff.
- Report shift activities, issues, and updates to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Step into a supervisory role when needed.
Requirements
- Minimum EM2 level leadership experience, with EM3-level experience preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience with at least one year of leadership experience as a team lead or other leadership responsibility to include one direct report.
- Must demonstrate the ability to self-manage while managing others with limited oversight during their shift.
- PLC experience desired.
- Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability with 110, 240, and 480.
- Combination of certifications and experience a must.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working on industrial machinery required.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills desired.
- Experience working with equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Able to coordinate personnel and resources to meet production objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Able to read, understand, and apply technical information.
- Basic computer skills, including: work order management, inventory data entry, email communication, maintenance tracking systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Previous leadership, lead technician, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics below are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production facility environment. Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, energized electrical systems, machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, vibration, oils, grease, and other manufacturing-related conditions. May require working at heights, in confined spaces, or around production equipment during maintenance and repair activities. Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, gloves, and other safety equipment as required. Position may require support during off-shift operations, overtime, weekends, emergency breakdowns, or periods of increased production demand. Frequent interaction with maintenance personnel, production employees, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and support operational objectives.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
- Must regularly use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, computers, and maintenance-related devices.
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and occasionally more with assistance or appropriate lifting equipment.
- Able to safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, lifts, and material-handling devices.
- Must possess adequate visual acuity, depth perception, color recognition, and hearing ability to inspect equipment, read gauges and technical documents, identify hazards, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
- Able to work extended periods on concrete floors and move throughout a large manufacturing facility.
- Mental demands requires strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks, respond to changing production needs, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to follow technical specifications, procedures, and company policies.
- Must be able to effectively lead, coach, and support maintenance team members while maintaining productive working relationships across departments.
- Able to communicate clearly, maintain accurate records, and utilize computerized maintenance management systems and other business software.
- Able to remain focused and exercise sound judgment in fast-paced manufacturing environments where equipment downtime and production demands may create competing priorities.
