Key Responsibilities
- Perform proficiently all duties and responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician
- Diagnose, set up, and efficiently handle downed equipment
- Communicate effectively with plant staff and other workstreams
- Operate computer and software systems, maintain accurate records, and operate equipment safely
- Facilitate intra-shift cooperation and unity (5S duties, safety, production flow, etc.)
- Coordinate maintenance activity as needed
- Complete daily records and update KPI’s as required
- Aid in training other employees
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written and verbal English
- Read, interpret, and understand technical documents and drawings of plant process equipment
- Two years of technical training with state-of-the-art maintenance practices preferred
- One to three years previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Excellent computer and PLC skills (Experience with Allen Bradley Panel View systems and Allen Bradley PLC networking equipment preferred)
- Experience working with a CMMS system preferred
- Understanding of basics of hydraulic theory and its applications; understanding of applicable utility systems; and understanding of plant instrumentation/control systems such as level detection, temperature measurement, mass and magnetic flow meters, etc.
- Solid mechanical and electrical background
- Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment
- Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, hoists, scales, and other equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis and 80 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, stairs, maneuver around equipment, manipulate valves, bend, reach, kneel, stack pallets, work from heights up to 20-25 feet, and other related tasks
- Ability to complete required safety training
- Ability to wear protective gear including but not limited to: gloves, safety glasses, face shields, ear plugs, hard hats, respirator, and other PPE as required
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and record progress/procedures/steps as completed
- Ability to work in a team environment and take ownership over area of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills from explaining equipment to operators on the floor to presenting recommendations for continuing plant and process improvement to management
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work overtime and some weekends
