Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) Nurse Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Patient & Family Education: Explaining the procedure and addressing concerns.
• Pre-procedure: Assessing the patient's, starting IVs, and reviewing consent and medical history.
• Treatment days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
• Post-procedure: Managing the patient's recovery from anesthesia, monitoring for side effects, and preparing them for discharge back to their inpatient unit or home.

Supervisor Duties

• Supervises License Vocation Nurse (LVN) and Mental Health Technician.
• Captures process with phlebotomist, medical staff and psychiatrist.
• Obtains pre-authorizations for ECT procedure through insurance.
• Provides quarterly reports and ensures supplies is ordered for the ECT department.
• Facilitates the delivery of care for patients receiving inpatient and outpatient ECT, as well as by collaborating on ECT processes with the Medical and Nursing Leaderships.

Requirements

• Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• BSN preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in Psychiatric/Behavioral Health preferred.
• ACLS Certification required (must be attained within 30 days of your hire date).
• SAMA (must be attained within 30 days of your hire date).
