Job Overview
The Journeyman 1-3 Electrician is responsible for executing basic to moderately complex electrical installations and terminations. This licensed role works with moderate supervision, ensuring all work meets NEC, design, and quality control standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform the full installation and termination of power, lighting, and control systems.
- Execute the layout and installation of medium to large-diameter rigid metal conduit (RMC) runs.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical faults in circuits and equipment.
- Interpret and work from complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and elevation drawings.
- Provide technical direction and supervision to assigned Helper/Apprentice personnel.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
- Electrical Apprentice License (TDLR) or equivalent state/local licensing is required.
- Must successfully pass applicable written and practical craft tests as part of the selection process.
- Proven proficiency in the termination of both power (480V/4160V) and control wiring.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its application in industrial settings.
- Preferred qualifications include NCCER Certification and experience in instrumentation and control wiring.
