About the role
Freres Engineered Wood Products, formerly Freres Lumber Co., Inc., is a family-owned and operated wood products manufacturing business based in Lyons, Oregon. Established in 1922, the company operates six processing plants and specializes in creating high-quality wood products, including plywood, sheathing grade plywood, MPP, and hog fuel.
Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus or equipment, replaces or repairs parts, detects and replaces defective control modules, tests and makes adjustments.
- Prepares wiring diagrams to record changes.
- Experience with hardware and software programming is a benefit.
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot various industrial electronic devices, including: variable Interface (HMI, VFD), software systems, robotics and instrumentation.
- Develop and maintain programs for Modicon, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s, HMI, and Motion Controllers.
- Assist other branches with reasonable and related tasks.
Requirements
- Some Mill experience, particularly with laminated veneer lumber, plywood, etc.
- Journeyman Manufacturing Plant (PJ) or General Journeyman license.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Good analytical, problem-solving skills, computer and math skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Positive and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage efficiently and effectively.
- Computer literacy in commonly used business software products such as spreadsheets, word processing and database management.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, plant management and customers.

Pay
$38.60 - $40.60 per hour.
Schedule
Eight to ten-hour shifts, five days per week, weekends, holidays, and shut-downs.
