About the role
The Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) in Ithaca, Nebraska is a leading hub for agricultural research, education, and innovation. Located near Mead, Fremont, Ashland, and Wahoo, ENREEC spans nearly 9,700 acres and houses over 6,000 livestock animals.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical power systems at ENREEC.
- Plan, perform, and supervise electrical installations including circuitry, sizing of wire, switching, mains and junction boxes for new and repair of existing single phase and three phase electrical systems.
- Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on electrical equipment and controls.
- Prepare and obtain state electrical permits and perform follow-through inspections to ensure all electrical work is completed correctly and complies with current local, state and federal electrical codes.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalency plus four (4) years of on-the-job electrical experience required.
- Additional completed relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Skilled in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems at the journeyman level.
- A current Journeyman Electrician license required.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, such as MS Office Suite, used for communication, scheduling, and collaboration.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to meet University driver eligibility criteria.
Qualifications
- Relevant coursework or specialized training beyond high school in electrical trade.
- Contractor or Masters Electrical License preferred.
Skills
- Skilled in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems at the journeyman level.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, such as MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet University driver eligibility criteria.

Pay
$27.40/hr minimum
