About the role

Chapel Electric has immediate openings for electricians and electrician trainees. Our workforce is expanding, and we welcome anyone interested in the electrical field to apply. We are willing to train those who are willing to learn. 50 or more long-term positions are opening soon.

Responsibilities

  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballast, motors, etc.
  • Assist in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Accomplish work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, and national and local codes.
  • Update as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
  • Attend Toolbox safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
  • Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.
  • Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.

Work Environment

The work environment may require working outdoors, exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay

Journeyman pay: $39.40 to $45.31 per hour with required experience. Additional retirement plan contribution of $14.71 per hour and fully paid health insurance by the employer for those with 12,000-hour experience in the electrical trade.
