Job Summary

The Electrician Advanced IV position at Shaw Industries involves training and mentoring reliability electricians 1-3, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively. This includes design, installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, and inspecting various electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, repair, and maintain electrical systems
  • Use testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components
  • Maintain and upkeep equipment as assigned
  • Participate in root cause analysis of machinery faults, identify necessary steps to correct the faults, and make repairs
  • Find solutions to eliminate future recurrence of faults
  • Explain the operation of servo and stepper motors
  • Connect communications and configure HMI IP addresses
  • Install, download, and back up HMI programs
  • Create and utilize instructions with symbolic or tag addressing in Ladder Logic
  • Reset robot paths and perform preventive maintenance (PM)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve robotic issues, including battery replacement and changing axis offsets

Requirements

Essential Knowledge:

  • National Electrical Code (NEC)

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrician
  • Experience with control components, human machine interface (HMI), process controls, and programmable automation controllers (PAC)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and robotic issues

Skills

  • Calibration of analog flow sensing devices
  • Operation of servo and stepper motors
  • Communication and configuration of HMI IP addresses
  • Installation, download, and backup of HMI programs
  • Setup and demonstration of process controls related to flow, level, temperature, and pressure
  • Creation and utilization of instructions with symbolic or tag addressing in Ladder Logic
  • Reading and interpreting Ladder Logic and Function Block Diagrams for troubleshooting
  • Resetting robot paths and performing preventive maintenance (PM)
  • Troubleshooting and resolving robotic issues, including battery replacement and changing axis offsets
