Electrician Advanced IV | Day Shift

About the role

The Electrician Advanced IV position at Shaw Industries is responsible for training and mentoring reliability electricians 1-3, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively. The role involves design, installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, using testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, repair, and maintain electrical systems
• Use testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues and inspect various electrical components
• Maintain and upkeep equipment as assigned
• Participate in root cause analysis of machinery faults, identify necessary steps to correct the faults, and make repairs
• Find solutions to eliminate future recurrence of faults
• Describe how a servo motor works and how a stepper motor works
• Connect communications and install the HMI IP address
• Install or download HMI programs
• Back up HMI programs
• Demonstrate ability to set up process controls for Flow, Level, Temperature, and Pressure
• Demonstrate ability to create and use Instructions with Symbolic or tag addressing in Ladder Logic and Function Block Diagrams
• Describe the purpose of a basic oscilloscope and demonstrate its safe operation
• Operate a Portable Data Logger
• Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with a PM robot, including battery replacement, resetting rev counters, and changing axis offsets
• Identify and test category 1-4 safety components within the facility
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment
• Work in elevated environments (ladders, lifts, baskets, etc.) for extended periods of time
• Attend all required meetings and perform general plant repairs as directed

Requirements

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Ability to calibrate an analog flow sensing device according to manufacturer's specifications
• Experience with control components, robotics, and safety circuits and components
• Basic math skills
• Previous mechanical equipment repair/upkeep experience preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry loads of up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to work in an elevated environment for extended periods of time
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools and equipment

Pay

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

8-hour non-rotating shift, hours fall to in punch day, observed calendar, shift starts AM
