About the role
An innovative technology company in Greater Boston is seeking a permanent Electrical Test Engineer to join its engineering team. This role focuses on the development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of complex electrical and automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute electrical test plans and validation activities
- Design and build test fixtures and test systems
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, and automation systems
- Support system integration, debugging, and performance verification
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control architectures
- Assist with hardware development, testing, and design verification
- Document test results, engineering changes, and technical findings
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve technical issues
- Support customer and project teams with technical problem-solving as needed
- Contribute to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support projects from development through deployment
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, test engineering, or related fields
- Experience developing and executing electrical test procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control system drawings
- Familiarity with industrial control systems and electrical panels up to 480V
- Understanding of UL508A and electrical safety principles
- Experience using electrical design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SOLIDWORKS Electrical
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative engineering environment
- Experience with industrial automation systems
- Familiarity with PLCs and HMI platforms
- Experience with motors, drives, sensors, and motion control systems
- Exposure to automated test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Experience within manufacturing, automation, robotics, semiconductor, or advanced technology environments
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols
- Experience supporting both electrical design and testing activities
Pay
$110,000 to $140,000 per annum.
