About the role
R&P Technologies is seeking a Marine Electrician III with at least 5 years of relevant experience working on US Navy ships. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical installations, possess certifications like Mil Fiber Optic and Cableway Inspection, and be proficient in handling multi-pin copper connectors.
Responsibilities
- Provide training to Technician Level II and I personnel
- Execute plans of electrical installations for various systems including lighting, announcing, electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply, Audio/Video, interior communications, and alarms
- Operate efficiently in a team environment and demonstrate leadership qualities
- Perform effective troubleshooting and repair/replace damaged equipment
- Potentially run shipboard availabilities with a small crew
- Install, tag, and band copper cables on various classes of surface and submarine Naval Vessels
- Troubleshoot and test copper cables and circuits
- Use electrical tooling such as voltmeters, megohmeters, etc.
- Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working on US Navy ships
- Current certification proof preferred
- Mil Fiber Optic certification preferred
- Cableway inspection certification preferred
- Experience leading AIT teams during shipyard availabilities is a plus
- Familiarity with NAVY Standard Items
- Ability to read, understand, and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Keen attention to detail and quality metric driven
- US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Proven experience in marine electrical systems
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your own
- Willingness to travel to various locations in support of ship maintenance availabilities
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
- Ability to obtain and maintain Navy CAC or DBIDS security credentials
- Ability to obtain access to shipyards, local, and other various locations
Qualifications
- Marine Electrician with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Current certification proof desired
