About the role

R&P Technologies is seeking a Marine Electrician III with at least 5 years of relevant experience working on US Navy ships. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical installations, possess certifications like Mil Fiber Optic and Cableway Inspection, and be proficient in handling multi-pin copper connectors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training to Technician Level II and I personnel
  • Execute plans of electrical installations for various systems including lighting, announcing, electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply, Audio/Video, interior communications, and alarms
  • Operate efficiently in a team environment and demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Perform effective troubleshooting and repair/replace damaged equipment
  • Potentially run shipboard availabilities with a small crew
  • Install, tag, and band copper cables on various classes of surface and submarine Naval Vessels
  • Troubleshoot and test copper cables and circuits
  • Use electrical tooling such as voltmeters, megohmeters, etc.
  • Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working on US Navy ships
  • Current certification proof preferred
  • Mil Fiber Optic certification preferred
  • Cableway inspection certification preferred
  • Experience leading AIT teams during shipyard availabilities is a plus
  • Familiarity with NAVY Standard Items
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Keen attention to detail and quality metric driven
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Proven experience in marine electrical systems
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your own
  • Willingness to travel to various locations in support of ship maintenance availabilities
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Navy CAC or DBIDS security credentials
  • Ability to obtain access to shipyards, local, and other various locations

Qualifications

  • Marine Electrician with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
