Responsibilities
- Report to assigned job site location on time as directed.
- Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
- Accurately organize materials and tools in order to maintain clean and neat work area.
- Upright and understand pulley systems to lift/move heavy objects.
- Dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment.
- Accurately read labels, job site maps/directions, manuals and written instructions.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Direct/train helpers & apprentices in proper work practices.
- Plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Visualize completed work prior to installation.
- Accurately install duct banks and understand spacing requirements.
- Able to install panelboards and transformers.
- Understand the proper use/selection of cables for proper installation per NEC.
- Able to perform material take-offs to accurately execute work in a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers on issues and solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 6 or more years of experience and meets requirements.
- Experience in terminations (i.e. both aluminum and copper, twisted pair cable, terminating coaxial cable).
- Clearly understand and comply to company/job safety requirements (OSHA).
- Ability & knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators.
- Knowledge of series circuits, Ohms's Law, DC Circuits and resistance and its effect.
- Ability to add, subtract, divide and use electrical formulas accurately.
- Knowledge of blueprints/shop drawings, including symbol use.
- Knowledge of use of degrees in bending conduit (i.e. concentric bending).
- Knowledge of switching procedures.
- Knowledge and Understanding of OSHA requirements.
- Employee must understand and follow the NEC.
- Knowledge and Understanding of Properly Implement Grounding Practices, Transformer Protection/Connections, Insulating Oils & Overcurrent Protection, Parallel circuits, Fuse Operate Circuit Breakers, Motors, Inductance and Capacitance Power factors.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
