Electrical Technician III

Responsibilities

  • Report to assigned job site location on time as directed.
  • Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
  • Accurately organize materials and tools in order to maintain clean and neat work area.
  • Upright and understand pulley systems to lift/move heavy objects.
  • Dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment.
  • Accurately read labels, job site maps/directions, manuals and written instructions.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Direct/train helpers & apprentices in proper work practices.
  • Plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Visualize completed work prior to installation.
  • Accurately install duct banks and understand spacing requirements.
  • Able to install panelboards and transformers.
  • Understand the proper use/selection of cables for proper installation per NEC.
  • Able to perform material take-offs to accurately execute work in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers on issues and solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 or more years of experience and meets requirements.
  • Experience in terminations (i.e. both aluminum and copper, twisted pair cable, terminating coaxial cable).
  • Clearly understand and comply to company/job safety requirements (OSHA).
  • Ability & knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators.
  • Knowledge of series circuits, Ohms's Law, DC Circuits and resistance and its effect.
  • Ability to add, subtract, divide and use electrical formulas accurately.
  • Knowledge of blueprints/shop drawings, including symbol use.
  • Knowledge of use of degrees in bending conduit (i.e. concentric bending).
  • Knowledge of switching procedures.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of OSHA requirements.
  • Employee must understand and follow the NEC.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Properly Implement Grounding Practices, Transformer Protection/Connections, Insulating Oils & Overcurrent Protection, Parallel circuits, Fuse Operate Circuit Breakers, Motors, Inductance and Capacitance Power factors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
