About the role
The Industrial Controls Technician will provide and coordinate production reliability improvement efforts and equipment troubleshooting support as needed, becoming the first line of support for advanced troubleshooting activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate production reliability improvement efforts and equipment troubleshooting support as needed
- Cook up facility, trade and OEM-service contractors, certifying that work requested is performed as expected while conforming to PAD safety standards
- Become one of the in-house experts on both the facility and our production operations
- Serve as the gatekeeper of all control and electrical drawings and primary electrical/controls resource
- Maintain all PLC/HMI programs for compounding, packaging and building systems, edit and write PLC programs, create/modify HMI screens, and perform basic electrical troubleshooting and functional modifications
- Collaborate on team projects to problem-solve and improve processes and procedures that improve OEE, safety, quality and work environment
- Focus on equipment reliability and seek out opportunities to drive manufacturing capacity and capabilities within the factory
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with automation and controls, with at least 2 years of experience working in a consumer-packaged goods or related industry manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated, independent execution of electrical or automation projects
- Ability to create, modify and troubleshoot complex PLC programs and HMI programs and read electrical schematics
- Proven, working knowledge of Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI programming software
- Working knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment and have some experience with mechanical / pneumatical functions and operations
- Demonstrated competence handling and troubleshooting basic mechanical related issues at times
- Strong coaching, training and teamwork skills, organization and experience working with diverse teams
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines
- Able to handle stressful situations and be able to adapt to urgent production focused needs if they arise
- Able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Support TPM & S5 Initiatives
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour based on skill level
Schedule
Second shift: 3pm-11pm with flexibility for third shift: 11pm-7am
