About the role
The Electrical Technician at Nomad GCS is a hands-on role responsible for safely applying electrical knowledge and skills to build projects that meet both customer and Nomad specifications. This position involves the installation, testing, and quality assurance of 12V and 120V systems within various projects. The Electrical Technician also plays a key role in evaluating and continuously improving Nomad’s electrical processes, while ensuring the consistent application of existing practices to maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Splice wires and solder connections to fixtures and equipment.
- Diagnose or repair problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators sound, navigation, communication, security equipment, and leveling systems in motor vehicles.
- Run wires and cables for AC and DC systems, controls, and various electronic appliances.
- Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills, air saws, and multi-tools.
- Replace electrical or electronic components.
- Build wooden enclosures and carpeted wall panels to custom fit vehicle dimensions.
- Perform cross-training in areas including, but not limited to, flooring installation, plumbing, door, and window installation, HVAC, cabinet and countertop making, welding, and IT integration.
- Perform additional duties as needed by supervisor.
Requirements
- Understand electrical pull sheets, wiring diagrams, electrical concepts, processes, and theories of 120VAC and 12VDC.
- Be knowledgeable of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance; arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Principles and methods for training, teaching and instructing individuals or a group, and the measurement of the training effects.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1-5+ years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience OR 1-2 years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience outside of Nomad GCS and secondary education certification specific to electrical.
- 1-5+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.
- 1-5+ years of experience reading and following CAD.
Benefits And Compensation
- Nomad offers a full benefit package including 6 paid holidays and 3 weeks (15 days) of paid personal time off (PTO) for a total of 21 paid days off in your first year.
- Potential annual income range based on hourly rate:
- $24.00/hour = $4,032
- $26.00/hour = $4,368
- $28.00/hour = $4,704
- PTO increases by 1 day per year up to 4 weeks or 20 days at 5 years.
- Nomad also has a 401K plan with a matching contribution from Nomad. If you invest 1%, 2%, or 3% we will match with 1%, 2%, or 3%. If you invest 5% in your 401K retirement plan Nomad will match with 4% or:
- $24.00/hour and 4% = $1997.00
- $26.00/hour and 4% = $2163.00
- $28.00/hour and 4% = $2330.00

Physical Demands
- Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools or controls.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
- Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.
- Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.
Working Environment
- Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.
- Occasional outdoor work required.
- Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
- Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.
