About the role
Hiniker is a Minnesota based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry going back to 1970 and continuing today, known for sturdy cultivators, efficient shredders, and niche equipment such as the cover crop seeder and NH3 monitors. In 1995, Hiniker branched into designing and manufacturing snow removal equipment, including the Hiniker C-Plow and the Hiniker Scoop Plow, as well as a line of spreaders and skid steer plows. In 2024, we expanded our offerings with the acquisition of Daniels Plows. Located in Mankato, MN.
We are searching for an Electrical Technician to be responsible for assisting with our design preparation, records maintenance, and providing technical support to internal team members and external customers. In this role the Electrical Technician will complete activities to test or modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, or electrical control equipment, and circuity for the company's industrial/commercial product line(s).
Responsibilities
- Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.
- Write engineering specifications to clarify design details or functional criteria of experimental electronics units.
- Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
- Assemble equipment or components.
- Calibrate scientific or technical equipment.
- Maintain electrical equipment.
- Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments.
- Interpret test information to resolve design related problems.
- Inspect electrical project work for quality control and assurance and collaborate with electrical engineers to identify, define or solve developmental problems.
- Repair, maintain and test electronic equipment.
- Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards and document information in written or electronic form.
- Draft, lay out and specify technical devices, parts and equipment.
- Interpret the meaning of information to others.
- May assist with the training and teaching co-workers and/or customers.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with others in organization and persons outside organization.
Skills and abilities
- Ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications.
- Ability to make sound/logical decisions, use strong analytical skills, and promptly and thoroughly solve problems.
- Requires communications with Supervisor, peers, and customers.
- Must possess a good understanding of engineering design and drafting, and the terms and methods used in engineering procedures.
- Ability to use algebraic formulas, statistical mathematics, and trigonometry tables to accomplish assigned jobs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
- Uses time management skills and with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and demonstrated work experience.
- Pre-engineering related coursework or vocational school is highly desired.
Pay
$70,000 - $85,000 yearly salary.
