About the Role

Ace Electric is seeking a Mission Critical Quality / Commissioning Project Engineer to provide high-level project-specific administrative support for the onsite Quality and Commissioning Team. This role assists the QCx Manager with documentation control, phase-by-phase tracking, and coordination of quality initiatives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a quality culture that embraces "Implement Quality from the Start" and coach continuous learning to improve project efficiency and quality.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Assist investigations into quality-related incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Manage verification and documentation for all Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment, ensuring conformance with approved submittals and the Equipment Protection Plan.
  • Provide administrative support to the onsite QCx team as needed.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings (e.g., daily Cx, scheduling, coordination, pre-energization, and staffing meetings).
  • Assist in coordinating the First Time Energization (FTE) documentation process from start to finish.
  • Identify potential quality issues from review of construction submittals and specifications.
  • Analyze upcoming tasks and anticipate equipment installation standards, checklist procedures, and training needs.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of processes, systems, and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage all project issue logs and punch lists, collaborating with affected parties to mitigate and close open issues.
  • Audit Quality Reports, document field discrepancies and findings, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ascertain information regarding regulatory changes that could impact Mission Critical operations.
  • Identify and assess quality risks associated with Mission Critical operations.
  • Manage and track OFCI equipment, communicating status with the construction team.
  • Develop and conduct training related to electrical systems, components, and department-specific topics.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, submittals, single-line diagrams, and other contract documents.
  • Experience working under pressure while closely tracking QC details of multiple project activities.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Construction Management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on working environment.
  • Experience in a decision-making position; self-motivated with an analytical mindset.
  • Experience collaborating with field and management to implement technological and Quality programs.
  • Acute attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive business, customer, or employee information.
  • Able to maintain high productivity, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy.
  • Effective and professional communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Able to maintain a pleasant customer service attitude under pressure.
  • High level of professional business acumen.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must pass references, background check, and drug screen testing.
