About the role

Maintain and improve electromechanical systems in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support capital projects, machinery installations, or system upgrades.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining complex electromechanical systems.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and develop corrective actions for system failures.
  • Design and update mechanical and electrical layouts using CAD software.
  • Operate and maintain power tools and shop equipment.
  • Program and set up PLCs, variable frequency drives, and servo systems.
  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and modify control systems for automated machinery.
  • Generate electrical schematics and support documentation.
  • Follow safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Work independently and collaboratively on cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and external vendors.
  • Work flexible hours, including rotating shifts and on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, automation, PLC programming, and control systems; proficiency in CAD software; familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance systems; knowledge of communication standards; advanced PLC, Electrical Controls, VFD, and servo systems experience; strong mechanical background; basic troubleshooting skills; ability to program VFDs and add switched programming; expert electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC; ability to operate power tools and other shop equipment.
  • Project and System Experience: Experience leading or supporting capital projects, machinery installations, or system upgrades; understanding of safety and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, NEC); ability to analyze system failures and implement RCA and corrective actions; knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and associated control devices; proficient in the use of tools and equipment common to the trade; advanced PLC, Electrical Controls, VFD, and servo systems experience; strong mechanical background with the ability to assemble, repair, and modify equipment; automation experience; basic troubleshooting skills, minor program adjustments, and adding assorted switched programming of VFDs; ability to operate power tools and other shop equipment; perform maintenance service and repairs on production equipment, including preventative maintenance; set up and program PLCs, variable frequency, and servo drives; set up and program operator interface devices; assemble and wire electrical control panels and machinery; generate electrical schematics and support documentation; follow safe work practices such as lockout/tagout, ladder safety, safe use of power tools, etc.

  • Soft Skills: Project Management experience; ability to provide timelines and resources necessary for the project; displays attention to detail and is accurate and disciplined; must be able to follow through on all tasks and projects with limited supervision; ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed; good communication skills for interfacing with production, maintenance, and external vendors; willingness to work on-site, possibly in rotating shifts, and be available for emergency support or on-call duties if required.
