Responsibilities
- Oversee the Electrical Schematics and Electrical Installation teams.
- Manage engineering capacity, ensuring project compliance, and fostering team growth through training and mentorship.
- Continuous development and management of the Electrical Installation and Schematics team.
- Manage work packages within project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Office), ensuring accurate capacity planning and task allocation.
- Prepare installation drawings, schematics, and production documentation with the team.
- Work in PLM systems (SmarTeam, Teamcenter) and tooling landscapes to streamline workflows.
- Implement change management based on feedback from production and in alignment with the Lead Engineer.
- Facilitate the adoption of current designs to American Railway Standards.
- Create, optimize, and establish engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions.
- Ensure relevant electrical engineering work packages adhere to both cost and schedule requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (System Engineers, Mechanical, Project Management, Production, and Quality) throughout product development stages.
- Lead technical releases of articles, 3D models, drawings, and associated documentation, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Ensure all electrical installation, schematic, and design activities meet company standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 5+ years in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Knowledge of Catia V5 or other 3D-Modelling tools.
- Experience with Zuken E3, JIRA, and Smarteam/Teamcenter is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven management experience within an engineering team.
- Familiarity with production processes and installation instructions.
- Ability to effectively function in an international working environment.
